I am adventurous. I went skydiving and jumped out of an airplane at 12,000 feet. The next year my husband and another couple went on a bobsled ride at the Olympic Park near Park City, UT. We went down fifteen curves at a speed of sixty-five miles per hour. What a thrill! We also went on the Zip Line at the Olympic Park, and I enjoyed that more that the Bob Sled. I swam with the dolphins at Cabo San Lucas and went parasailing. We ran the white-water rapids on the Rogue River in Oregon in kayaks with two other couples. It was a 26-mile run. I almost did not survive that adventure as when I entered one of the rapids, it threw me out of my kayak into a whirlpool and I could not get out. It is only by the grace of God that I am here. We also ran the Colorado River down the 100-mile Cataract Canyon... it was fantastic wilderness experience, My husband and I enjoy traveling, playing golf, bowling, playing board games, card games, running the rivers, four wheeling and entertaining friends and family. If you ask me to describe my life, I will have to say, it has been a great roller coaster ride. I have experience heartache and pain that I never dreamed I would have... but I have also experienced indescribable joy. Currently, I am living a full life and loving it. I was born and raised in a rural area on a river farm located in the Missouri Ozarks. Much of my youth was spent outdoors, either working in the fields, exploring the wooded areas, or playing in the rivers or the streams. We raised cows, pigs, chickens, hay, corn and always had a large garden. The land practically sustained us. We had our own milk, cream, eggs, meat, fish, and an abundance of wild game. We picked wild blackberries and grapes and my mom would them as well as peaches and pears. We also preserved our harvest from the garden, so basically, we lived off the land except for having to go to the store for flour, sugar, salt, coffee, and a few other items. Having this type of upbringing has helped me know the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. After leaving my childhood environment: the woods, the streams, the rivers, and the mountains all called to me. I am at peace when I am in nature, whether that be hiking, snow skiing, snowshoeing, golfing, walking, water skiing, floating the different rivers or just exploring various places outdoors.
I have been healthy most of my life but that does not mean I have not had my share of health issues. I understand that physical fitness is not the complete answer to great health and wellness. Good Health has multiple facets, and it looks different for everyone. It is important to give your body, mind, and spirit what they need for a full life with meaning and purpose.

I get bored with conventional exercises. For me, the key to exercise is making it fun. I enjoy hiking, snow skiing, wave running, kayaking, golfing, horseback riding and walking my toy poodle. Are you seeing a pattern? Most of my exercise is done by keeping my body moving. However, I do enjoy some indoor sports, as well as yoga and Zumba.
My adventures are the mountains I will climb, the rivers I will float, and the places I will travel. I hope by sharing my adventures, I will inspire you to find your own. I would love to hear your stories.
I enjoy walking my dog each day. There are so many benefits to walking. I not only get some good exercise, but I also enjoy the different smells in the air, the wind in my face as well as meeting new people walking their dogs. It also gives my mind a time to rejuvenate.
Hiking gives me a sense of freedom and adventure. As I am clambering over uneven surfaces and navigating my way up and around rocks, fallen trees, streams and tree roots I am not only giving my legs a decent work out, but my whole upper as well. Hiking the mountains is one of my favorite things to do. It gives me breathtaking views, fresh air, and a connection with nature. I come off that mountain feeling vibrant and alive.
Kayaking is a fun and enjoyable activity. It provides me with a high-energy workout. When I am kayaking, my cardiovascular system gets an excellent workout and I am strengthening my core, arms, back, shoulders and chest muscles at the same time. Having the water splashing up on me is so invigorating on a hot summer's day. It makes me happy.
Golf is a good exercise. I spend a lot of time walking but being in a beautiful location where I can take in nature and enjoy it with family, friends or with yourself. I am always challenging myself to improve my game. One good shot will always bring me back to the golf course.
Yes, Yoga is FUN. It channels my inner child. I have always like to play and when I am doing my Yoga exercises, I go upside down, make all kinds of fun shapes with my body and even sort of nap at the end of my practice. It is truly one of the few times I can just let go ad be free.
I enjoy ballroom dancing. It is a whole-body workout that is fun. It is good for my heart, it makes me stronger, and helps me with my balance and coordination. It gives me and my husband a night out to reconnect.
We visited my son, his wife and four children while they were living in Düsseldorf, Germany. It is a beautiful city and we enjoyed spending time with them and seeing the sites around that area.
This picture is at the Cologne Cathedral. It truly is a gothic masterpiece.
We spent a week visiting different places in and around Cancun. Chichen Itza was a place I had wanted to visit and it did not disappoint me.
These Mayan
ruins reflect a great civilization filled with architectural marvels and ancient secrets.
We had such a great adventure in Paris, France. We walked all over the city and enjoyed many places. Three of our favorites were the Louvre Museum, Notre-Dame cathedral, and the Eiffel tower..
In 2019 we went on a seven-day cruise around the Hawaii Islands.
Every Island was so beautiful. This picture was taken in Kauai.
We have been to Cabo San Lucas a couple of times, and each time we went, we were never disappointed. it offers great weather and spectacular scenery.
It is everything you need for relaxing or having an active vacation experience.
We went on a Seven Day Mediterranean Cruise and visited Barcelona, Spain, Marseille, France Rome, Italy and Cefalù in Sicily, Italy. What amazing history we were able to experience. To see Vatican City and the Sistine Chapel was beyond my expectations. The above picture was taken in Barcelona, Spain
Richard and I started from same pole/platform with our feet on cables and our hands outreached holding on to each other as support as we tried to get across. There was a feeling of accomplishment when we finished.
Parasailing is very serene and peaceful. It felt like we were floating. It was much quieter than I had imagined. We could not even hear the boat below. Every so often, we would hear the wind blow past us but that is about it. Meanwhile we sat in our seats and gazed at the incredible 360-degree views. Breathing in the salty air was so relaxing, we did not want to come down.
The about picture is my friend and I parasailing in Cabo San Lucas.
This hot air balloon ride stunned me with silence, and I was overcome with peace. The balloon traveled with the wind, and once our pilot reached his max height, we were one with the wind and sky. The views were incredible. May I say serenity at its best!
The above picture is me and my husband flying near Park City, UT
When it comes to experiencing stunning landscapes, a helicopter ride was my answer. The above helicopter ride we took over Mt Rushmore certainly gave me a bird’s eye view of that area. It was a unique and exciting experience. I was able see the ground clearly and seem to float at a speed that was slow enough for me to enjoy the view. What an exciting adventure.
I love relaxing in front of a crackling campfire. The kind that makes your eyes smart from the smoke, warms your face and hands, and feeds your soul. There is something magical about the way the fire dances. It is almost hypnotic. Campfire can bring people together and get them laughing, talking, and singing songs together. Of course, there always marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate to make smores.
We are fortunate to have these amazing Ice Castles located under fifty miles from our home during January and February. They are beautiful and so much fun. We were squeezing through pass ways, sliding down exhilarating ice slides, and getting lost from each other in the maze of ice. It was delightful.
